Hello,
I hope this year finds you and your family in the
best of health and happiness. During the past year I’ve been working
on the Bishop genealogy. At the beginning of my journey, I had very
little information beyond my Grandparents (Bishop).
I started at the Rootsweb.com website which
allowed me to funnel down to state, county, and the search on
surnames, etc. I posted some information and quickly was contacted
by a couple people in our family including Milton Bishoff of
Atlanta (originally from Rowlesburg), who published a book in
2000 – History of the Bischoff, Bishoff, Bishop Family.
Milton provided me with a lot of information,
taking the Bishop family roots back to Europe in the 1600’s.
Milton is going to publish a second family history book –
target Spring 2006. I have been assisting in collecting
information from the Henry John Bishoff line (Henry John Bishoff ,
Joshua Grant Bishop, Frederick William Bishop, etc.). Henry John had
16 children, so it’s going to be an adventure.
I’m requesting your assistance for the following
input/ items:
- Verify and/or complete your family
information
- Write a brief biography / auto-biography
of each of your family members (e.g. grew up at ----, went to school
at ---, work, hobbies, interesting story, etc. This should be very
brief (a paragraph or two).
- Any copies of pictures, especially old pictures
of our relatives which you may have. If you could make a copy -
black and white on a copy machine is okay as long as it fairly good
– computer scanner 300 dpi, or if you wanted to go to the trouble of
having it reproduced at a photo place. Please do not send
irreplaceable or original pictures which need to be returned.
Please help with this effort. You can
send your information via US Mail or via internet at the
addresses below. If you have an interest in any specific/additional
family tree information prior to the book being published, please
let me know and I’ll try to accommodate your request.
Regards,
Mike Bishop
