Christopher family. My Great-Grandmother (My Fathers Mother's
Mother), Alta Mae Christopher is on the far left in

John is reported to have been an orphan, when John Seaport raised

The Lawsons were a
pioneer family of Pisgah, coming from Loudoun County, Virginia at
the same time with the Gribbles and the Walls. The pioneers name
appears to have been Elias. In old records the surname is
given as Layton - - - and Larson in some books.
Charles T. Lawton
came from Vermont in 1869 and settled midway between Rowlesburg and
Aurora.
