        23.  Henrich⁴ Bischoff (Johannes³, Johannes Heinrich², Hans¹) was born 13 Mar 1771 in Maryland, and died Aft. Feb 1832 in Preston County, VA.  He married (1) Julia Lantz? Wagner Bef. 1799.  She was born 1775 in Maryland, and died Bef. 1815.  He married (2) Eve Catarina Lantz Aft. 1815.  She was born  in Maryland^134,135.

Notes for Henrich Bischoff:

Per PC Journal Article (8-26-1985) by Dorthy Snyder: Henry had five girls by his first marriage to Eve Lantz (no boys). It may be possible that Ms. Snyder didn't know about the first two children which were born in Md, the rest being born in Va/WV.

She was also known as Juliana. She received Holy Communion on 8 Nov 1795 at St Benjamin's (Kreider's) Evangelical Lutheran Ch, Frederick Co, MD (listed as single; also in 1796).

No marriage record has been located. Some say her name was Julia Wagner others (Trudie Davis) state that Henry was married to Julia Lantz per records in the Gettysburd Pa. and Westminister, Md. areas. Maybe they're both right, but talking about different Henry Bischoffs? Maybe Julia was originally a Lantz and was married to a Wagner prior to marrying Henry?

John W. Bishoff was born about 1816 the 1st son of Henry and Julia Wagner

Jacob C. Bishoff was the second son of Henry and Julia Wagner born about 1819

When the war began, Jacob (Single) was one of the first to enlist. He enlisted on June 28, 1861, into Co. C, 3rd WV Infantry. He spent most of his time as a wagoneer or ambulance driver. He was captured in the vicinity of Jackson River on Dec 29 1863. He was heald as a prisoner at Covington, Va. and transferred to Richmond. then transferred to Andersonville, Ga. in the Spring of 1864. He died from the inhuman treatment  in Andersonville on August 18, 1864.
